Stop Repeating the Same Onboarding Talk at Every Location
Make the routine part of onboarding consistent across sites, with a presenter-led explanation managers can reuse and update.
Make the routine part of onboarding consistent across sites, with a presenter-led explanation managers can reuse and update.
Every new cohort needs a clear welcome, yet managers often repeat the same routine explanation across shifts and locations. A reviewed Avatar library gives the business one current version of those explanations. Managers can then spend more of their time on practice, coaching, and questions that depend on the person or role.
Your presenter plus Golpo’s visual explanation is a winning combination: a recognizable guide alongside visuals that make the idea easier to follow.
Watch the new Avatar example
Maya explains a fictional studio’s project handoff process. The example demonstrates how a routine welcome can establish the process and versioning expectations. Replace the fictional content with approved company material before using this approach for employees.
Play the video inside this guide. Use the player’s full-screen control to expand it.
The example uses a short script and a one-minute duration selection. The rates describe video generation; the planning budget below uses its own stated video lengths. Auto can change among approved layouts and briefly hide the presenter to keep important content visible.
Why this is worth testing
Managers deliver the same introductory talk to every cohort, with different examples and outdated explanations across locations. New hires still need practice and a way to ask questions.
Formal learning averaged 16.7 hours per employee in 2025; direct learning expenditure averaged $846 per employee. ATD: highlights from the 2026 State of the Industry Report
Association for Talent Development organizational learning benchmark based on 340 participating organizations; the 2026 report describes 2025 learning expenditure and activity. These are broad learning benchmarks, not onboarding-only costs. They cannot be used as a claim that Golpo eliminates $846 per employee.
Learning consumes meaningful organizational resources. Avatar can reduce repeated presenter delivery and make approved material easier to reuse; it does not eliminate learner time or the need for live practice. The ATD spending figure is context, not a proposed saving per hire.
How to build the workflow, step by step
- Select routine orientation content from approved company policies and SOPs. Leave practical demonstrations and role-specific judgment with the appropriate trainer.
- Choose Maya or an authorized team-leader portrait, select narration, and pair the presenter with actual company pictures and a simple visual sequence.
- Use Horizontal, Auto or Side by side. Have HR and the process owner approve the script and each visual, and give every video a version date.
- Distribute through the existing training channel, add comprehension checks, and keep a live question-and-practice session. Refresh all locations from the same approved source.
Set up the presenter in Golpo
- Open the Playground and turn on Talking AI Avatar. For a Stock presenter, open Golpo and choose the appropriate ready-to-use Avatar. For your own presenter, choose Create new, upload a clear authorized portrait, review the framing and approved layouts, name it, and save it. Use Mine to select a saved custom Avatar.
- Choose narration separately. Paste the approved narration in Script Mode, then add visual and voice instructions in their separate fields. Pick Canvas or Sketch and the style that suits the explanation.
- Choose Horizontal and a presentation layout. Give diagrams, product screens, or real source images enough room to be readable. Preview the composition before generation.
- Generate, watch the complete result, verify every important visual and spoken claim, and review pronunciation. Correct any problems before uploading or embedding the accepted video through your existing distribution tools.
What the time and money could look like
Illustrative planning example — replace these assumptions with measurements from your own pilot.
52 hours of manager capacity per month
10 sites × 8 cohorts/month × 45 minutes = 60 hours of repeated delivery; less 8 hours upkeep = 52 hours; × $60 = $3,120/month
Each site currently repeats a 45-minute routine segment eight times monthly. The video replaces only that presenter segment. Eight monthly hours cover content updates and coordination; pilot both assumptions.
Subtract initial production, software, and additional live support. New hires still spend time learning. Freed salaried manager hours are capacity unless an actual paid cost is avoided.
Plan the generation budget
12 videos × 2 minutes × 3 credits per minute = 72 credits for one successful generation per planned video. A twelve-part routine orientation library; deployment does not require a new generation for every cohort.
Stock Avatar videos use 3 credits per minute; custom Avatar videos use 5 credits per minute. A Natural custom Avatar has no creation credit. An optional Polished portrait uses 1 credit after successful creation, separately from video generation. Budget additional generations and convert credits to your actual plan cost when calculating the business case.
Run a pilot that can prove value
Pilot at two comparable sites for a month. Log manager delivery and follow-up time, comprehension checks, time to demonstrated competence, and new-hire questions. Scale only if consistency improves without losing practical understanding.
Record the full workflow: source preparation, scripting, generation, factual review, revisions, distribution, and updates. Compare accepted outputs and successful tasks. Calculate net value after all attributable costs; views and freed salaried hours alone are not collected revenue or payroll savings.
Frequently asked questions
Does a video replace all training?
It can replace a repeated explanation. Practice, coaching, required demonstrations, and questions still need the appropriate training process.
How do locations keep their videos current?
Maintain one approved script per topic with an owner and version date, then distribute the reviewed replacement to every location using the existing channel.
Can we count the learner’s viewing time as saved?
No. Count net trainer time and any measured learner efficiency separately. Watching an explanation still takes time.
What does Avatar generation cost?
Stock Avatar videos use 3 credits per minute; custom Avatar videos use 5. A Natural custom avatar has no creation credit. An optional Polished portrait uses 1 credit after successful creation, separately from video generation. Credit amounts in this guide budget one successful generation per planned video; additional generations need additional budget.
Does uploading a selfie clone my voice?
No. Avatar identity and narration are separate choices. Select a voice independently; a personal voice requires the separate voice-cloning workflow.
Can I keep my presenter alongside visual explanations?
Yes. Choose Side by side, Round overlay, Full screen, or Auto, and use the approved layouts for your portrait. Auto may briefly hide the presenter to keep important content clear. Use Horizontal for the workflows in this guide.
Are the savings and revenue figures proven Golpo results?
No. Every business model here is illustrative. Time estimates, hourly values, adoption rates, prices, and sales assumptions must be replaced with pilot measurements. Labor capacity is not automatically a payroll saving. Bookings are not collected cash.
How do we turn a promising concept into evidence?
Measure the current process first, then pilot with a comparable audience and approved content. Include scripting, reviews, revisions, maintenance, distribution, software, and any translation costs. Count resolved tasks, learning, or paid business outcomes rather than treating views as ROI.
